Jungfrau Sunset

When I was hiking in the Swiss Apls near Wengen, I took a photo of the stunning view of the golden peak of Jungfrau at sunset. I enlarged that photo later and found the details of the snow, the glaciers and the rocks looked like what could have been done by oil painting knives of an impressionist painter. I suddenly felt an impulse to paint.
Inspired by the bold colors of Vincent Van Gogh, the vibrant lights and shades of Claude Monet and the breath-taking landscapes of Albert Bierstadt, I attempted to embrace the styles of these great masters in my paintings. I made a specific effort in doing so when painting Jungfrau Sunset. The entire work, except for the sky, was done using knives only.
